TARGET FINDS

Found some cute items at Target that I wanted to share with you. I am starting to really like their new Threshold line. They have a great new (well I don't know how new, new to me at least) line of frames...

Love this mirror, and it was even on clearance. How cute would it be hanging from a piece of ribbon or rope...

Seeing a lot of fabric covered items and furniture. This tray is a great option...

I love this blanket. I want to put it in my mom's house.

so cute...

BABY MELLO MATERIAL BOARD ONE

LETTER ART / BALLOON ART / WILD THINGS ART / RUG / WINDOW PANELS / SCONCES / MOBILE / DRESSER / CRIB / ROCKER / BEDDING

One of my besties (since we were in 7th grade) is havin' a baby! I received a card on New Years Eve with a sonogram pic on the front announcing they had a baby in the oven, no joke, for three days I kept going back and looking at the card to make sure it was really from them. So I am going to be an aunt for the 4th time! And the best thing about that is you can woo over other people's children but you can swiftly give them back to them when you're done :)

They aren't finding out the sex, so that leaves a nursery to be designed without having to overdose on frilly pink things (yay!). I haven't seen the nursery, well I have but way pre little nugget, its been painted, what color I forget, sorry Joy I was listening I promise, but paint can always be changed (aka me making her change it), yes Joy if we need to repaint I will do it for free ;). But anyways so despite having not been over to see the room to jog my memory and to take measurements, and not yet really talking to Joy about what she wants, nor having a budget in mind I decided to just whip something up for the time being. I opted for an inexpensive IKEA crib (which I have heard great reviews on), there are a decent amount of options out there with a varying price point, but I would rather spend more money on other things in the room that will spend more time there in the long run. The crib is simple, but can be dressed up and layered with blankets and bedding. There are also great convertible cribs that will change to a toddler bed or even a full size bed as your child grows, but who knows what their (the parents that is) style will be when those times come, and who knows how much time baby mello will actually spend in his/her crib, will Joy decide to parent cosleeping? who knows, and this is just one option for now ...Joy I hope you at least LIKE it.

I would also like to do this to the ceiling...love it...

TRENDY TUESDAY : WATERFALL COUNTERS

A waterfall counter is when the counter top, be it stone, man made stone, wood etc, continues down one or both sides of the cabinets or table, to the floor. You will see it most prominently on kitchen islands. Eventually when we are ready to finish our kitchen, this is what I want to do with our kitchen island with wood counters, cause frankly that's all we can afford :)

LIVING ROOM MATERIAL BOARD

SOFA / CHAIR / RUG / DESK / LAMP / STOOL / PILLOW

Here's a sneak of the Material Board (also known as a mood board) for our living room. It needs some more work but I'm just throwing it out there for my readers to have an idea of where I am trying to get. A couple of the items are unattainable. The desk is way way out of our price point, but I do have an inexpensive solution I am planning on and hopefully can share with you sometime soon. The lamp which I am obsessed with is sold on etsy but again I believe it was out of our price point as well. The major pieces like the sofa and chair (I would be wanting two of those awesome black chairs to make a reading/conversational area) are expensive but I love them and they are worth saving for. We have a sofa in the basement from IKEA that could do the job for now for a similar effect. The pillow I don't have the source for. We don't have a lot of space so a coffee table is still up in the air. And the rug I love and is also available in a few colors, one being emerald green (the color of the year!).

TRENDY TUESDAY : BLACK WINDOWS

One of my plans for awhile for our condo has been to paint the windows and their mullions black. I actually started on the windows in our bedroom, and by started I mean I painted one coat on one window. But as I was looking for inspiration photos for this post, it gave me the motivation to go straight home from work today and at least paint the second coat on that one window and a first coat on the bottom half of window number two. Slowly but surely.
So until I actually finish and can show you some pics from the condo, I thought I would give you plenty of black windows to drool over.
